VIDEO: Kanye's Paranoid

Another month, another Kanye video. We swear this guy's trying to turn each one of his albums into some sort of seminar of directorial interpretation. If we had to take a shot at to what this one mean's we would guess this one's a fever dream of sexual identity. Rihanna stars in this sometimes hot sometimes creepy video, which instantly makes us wonder if CB Picasso-ed her face because she was one hell of a robocop. We're not sayin', we're just sayin. Video: "Part of the list"

Why do we like Ne-Yo's video for "Part of the list" so much? Is it because it looks like they spent a little bit of dough on it? Or is it the girl? Or maybe it's because the imagery tugs at our heartstrings and reminds us of a similar situation in our past lives? Anyway, just check it out, peep that last scene with the Blackberry Bold. Gnarly.

Vegas 2.0

We don't usually get two full days to bask in 100+ degree weather and basically fulfill every hedonistic dream we ever conjoured up, but we did this weekend. The whole crew is in Vegas, and we are LOVING it. Besides the fact that we have not slept more than 2 hours in a 30 hour period, things are great when you don't have a care in the world. So although we would love to break down every minute detail of this trip, we must reference the oft quoted phrase "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." But just know this, we are making the best out of every moment that we are here. Hope you guys are having a great weekend...we will resurface again once the alcohol has sufficiently exited our systems. Read more!

Flashback Friday: Ditty

You guys probably have the impression that we over here at eCITY only blog on Fridays. It is quite noticeable that we have disappeared for a quick minute, and yes, we admit...we have. We really don't have any other explanation besides that it was a crazy week of extended studio sessions, Laker game debates, photo shoots and personal mishaps. But, that is all over now, and it's Friday. So let's pop champagne and think back to 1993. When Paperboy enamored the masses with his hit song (one and only hit song) "Ditty". Can you still remember how you were in '93? We were probably trying to find a way to show off that learner's permit we just got, and passing out mixtapes of radio rips to everyone at school. But anyway, I digress. Enjoy your Friday..next time you hear from us we will be live blogging from beautiful Las Vegas. You jelly?

Flashback Friday: Sittin' on Chrome

We apologize for the lack of updates lately. See we're world travelers over here at eCITY, and as much as we would like to tout the availability of fast, secure wireless connections in the airports of Asia, unfortunately we found ourselves sitting in the corner of the boarding gate wondering why we even took a vacay if it meant that we couldn't go to Media Takeout to see Cassie's naked pics. That being said, it's finally Friday. For this week's installment of Flashback Friday, we decided to bring some attention to Masta Ace, and specifically the single he is perhaps best known for (have you even heard of any other single besides this and Born to Roll?), of course we're talking about "Sittin' on Chrome". This song definitely takes us back to the days of Raiders jerseys and car shows...ohh the 90's. Anyway, enjoy the video, enjoy your Friday. We, on the other hand, will enjoy our wireless Internet connection, and warm, running water.

Live: Drizzy.

We've been feelin' this guy for awhile. I mean anyone that has been online since the beginning of '09 should have at least heard of Aubrey Drake Graham, Young Money's newest breakout artist. And just in case you've been noticeably absent on the Interweb (or maybe you're just a sucker for Canadian teenage dramas), you might have seen him play Jimmy on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Either way, Drake has infiltrated your life in one way or another. Just in case you're still not as big a fan of So Far Gone as we are over in these parts, let the mere fact that he sold out his show in ATL in less than five hours be another testament to how big this guy is going to be.

Gossip: Are they or aren't they?

We tend to stay away from the celebrity gossip around here. Welllll, we say we don't but we actually search fervently for the next slutty picture of Miley Cyrus on the Internets (I mean, who doesn't). But this couple has been trying so hard to deny their status that when they are seen together, we definitely take notice. We're of course talking about Puffy and former Delia's model Cassie. Despite the obvious age difference, there is definitely something off with those two. We're not even going to surmise whether or not she was on the receiving end of Puffy's 12-hour Tantric sex session that he tweeted about. At any rate, they were both seen together at Tao in Vegas for the Pacquiao v. Hatton After Party. I wonder if Kim Porter is happy to hear about this...

Commentary: Pharrell sans Tattoos equals Pharrell 3.0

To be real honest, we're kind of excited about Pharrell's undoubtedly painful laser tattoo removal and what comes with it. We think it's interesting how a man who consistently dresses like a teenager and who consistently rhymes about dressing like a teenager has manned up and removed most, if not all, of his teenage fever dream-inspired ink. This will be an interesting crossroads for Pharrell, perhaps signifying a new act or era to an already charmed career. From "Rump Shaker" ghost producer to giving post-Biggie rap a signature sound to what exactly we don't know yet.

We're hoping dude listened up to some crazy stuff while he's been at home dodging the sun. It would be great if he came back with some gypsy-type shit for the new Clipse album or perhaps Neo Jack Swing for the theoretically transformed post-Nas Kelis. Are we asking for too much? Probably. But someone out there should. Read more!

Video: Juelz + Skull Gang

We weren't quite sure why we've been watching this video over and over, but our friends over at The FADER pretty much nailed it:

He may be in a k-hole, as he is inexplicably looking Jason Voorhees-level IN-SANE in like 19 amazing shots in front of a disco ball...
What happened Juelz? We know that music video budgets fell the fuck off, but dude, did all of Harlem run out of weed during the shoot and you had no choice but to send some PA out into the streets to get you something, anything that'll get you jacked in some way?

Flashback Friday: Nuthin' But a G Thang

Fridays are great. Back in our college days, we purposefully chose classes that only met on Tuesdays and Thursdays, knowing damn well that Friday is a day to relax, a time of reflection if you will. Even now that we're in the real world, Fridays at work are usually pretty laid back. Usually. So we decided that on Fridays, we will all look back at the songs and artists that we just couldn't get enough of back in the good 'ole days (basically the 90's). This week, we're taking you back to '93 with Dr. Dre (who didn't age very well BTW) and Snoop Dogg in "Nuthin' But a G Thang". Enjoy...and remember, it's gotta' be bumpin...city of Compton..

Dr Dre + Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang from hiphop on Vimeo.
